Devotionals with Josh

Every night before Josh goes to bed, Jason or I do a devotional with him. We got him a year long devotional book that gives us a scripture passage to read, a little modern day story to go with it, some questions, and a memory verse. Hailey has a similar devotional style for her age level. I always find it so interesting how often the devotional for the day ends up being a topic that Josh has struggled with that day. It may be lying, siblings fighting, setting a good example, obeying, etc. So often at the end of the day we will be talking about something he needs to work on the next day, then we will read his devotional and it goes right along with what has just occurred. I have seen this so often in my own life with my devotions, but it is really exciting to see God working in my children's lives. Now if we can just get him to remember, the next time the situation occurs. Originally posted April 2011
