Allergies!

So a couple of days before the kids went to camp, Hailey slept over at a friend’s house. Or I should say, attempted to sleep over at a friend’s house. The house was 30 minutes away and she ended up having an allergic reaction in the middle of the night. She called us because she was struggling to breathe. The family gave her some Benadryl and we decided to wait 30 minutes to see if she felt better. 30 minutes later, she did not feel better, Jason met the family halfway between the homes, when Hailey walked through the door her breathing was better, but her face was very swollen. She remained swollen for 2 days. We think it was a reaction to a cat, but are not really sure. Then last week Josh was put on an antibiotic for an ear infection and subsequently broke out in hives. We figured out it was the antibiotic quickly, because it was in the same class of medications that Ashley had a reaction to many years ago. Three days later, we are still waiting for the hives to go away. Evidently my children all need to live in a large bubble! Originally posted July 2011
