Busy Summer

As always June was an incredibly busy month at our house. All the kid’s activities – wrestling camp, basketball camp, swim team, baseball, softball, play practice, art classes – have kept us running all over the place. It is always a relief when July comes, and things slow down a bit, but the kids still have quite a few things to do. I know some people frown on putting kids in too many activities. I think it just depends on the personality of the child. Hailey loves to participate in a lot of activities, but also enjoys just hanging out at home. Josh needs to have every minute of his day filled. He is at his best when he goes from activity to activity with little time to rest. I’m a lot like Hailey, I like to do things, but I also like my down time. So Josh wears us out and I get very little accomplished around the house, but at least he is happy and occupied. Poor Ashley had nothing to do for the entire month of June, and just got to ride in the car as we dropped off and picked up her sister and brother. I think she will be glad that her summer school is starting tomorrow. We are looking forward to Josh’s birthday next week and then the kids going to camp the following week.
