Josh Turns 8!

Today Josh turns eight years old! In the picture above, he is wearing one of his costumes from the musical Annie Jr. I can’t say the last eight years of being his mom have been easy, but it certainly has been interesting. I knew Josh was going to be a strong-willed, active child before he was born. There are many words to describe Josh – intelligent, empathetic, outgoing, loving, silly, active, and most of all intense! He is intense in everything he does, whether it is getting dressed (in perfectly matching attire, just suited for the occasion) or playing with a friend. That intensity often exhausts me, but I know someday it will help him to move mountains. He has never been a child that blends into a crowd, wherever he goes, whatever he does, everyone knows him by name. Although some people find him annoying, most are taken in by his charming nature. As many times as I have heard, “We need to discuss Josh”, I have also heard “I just love that kid!” He has certainly put us to the test as parents. Although I am sure the rest of his childhood will continue to be challenging, I can’t imagine a different or better son. I’m so glad that God chose to bless me with my wonderful, little boy eight years ago today. Children are a gift of the Lord. Psalm 127:3 Originally posted July 2011
