January Update
I really want to post blogs more often, but things seem to always remain so crazy. I keep saying when things calm down... But what I know to be true is things never really calm down, and I need to figure out a way to work this in the schedule more often. I do appreciate the support and encouragement from my readers. I had great hopes of getting some holiday blogs completed, lucky for me there is always next year. I have completed a few lingering projects, so I'm sure my schedule will get back on course. Here is a quick update:
Josh is doing amazing! His sleep study showed signs of restless leg syndrome, they started him on an Iron supplement (first step of treatment), and he has slept through the night every night since he started it. His para is seeing less staring spells, and when he does it, she is able to get him back verbally. He had all A's on his report card and participated in the spelling bee! This is quite an accomplishment for the boy who was removed from his classroom and school back in May. It is astonishing what the right program and placement can do. I'm not saying he is perfect we still deal with a lot of mood swings and behaviors (as huge numbers of people at recent sporting events have seen). But compared to where we were, he has made great progress.
Hailey is also doing well. It is amazing how busy a 10 year old can be. She is doing great in school, as always. She is continuing to love and excell at swimming. She is also participating on a traveling basketball team, which is a little more challenging for her, but she is making progress.
Ashley is having a harder time. Medically- the bacteria infection is almost gone, but all the antibiotics gave her a yeast infection. We are treating that and then going to give her some time and see what happens. And yes, we did give her lots of yogurt and probiotics throughout her treatment. She has been doing well at home, and making a lot of great progress. She has been very affectionate and social. This school year has not gone well, we are currently in the process of making major changes to her education program. I will get into that more at a later date, when I have more information.
I hope you all had wonderful holidays. I will do my best to keep in better touch.
