When Josh was two years old, we took him to a developmental specialist, just to insure his development was on track due to the fact that we already had one child diagnosed with autism. The specialist said it was so much fun to do the testing on him because he was so smart and obviously progressing well. She was happy to be able to give good news, since so often in her field she is giving parents devastating news. She was already familiar with our family because she had seen Ashley on several occasions. She told us that because he was so intelligent and precocious, yet hyper and willful, she expected he would probably be quite a challenge to raise, truer words were never spoken. She concluded with, “He should be a remarkable adult, if you survive raising him.” At the time I laughed these words off, but as the years pass, I sometimes wonder if we will survive. If we do I sincerely hope to see that remarkable man in which she spoke. In the mean time the remarkable little boy is quite the handful. Energetic, challenging, inventive, amusing, and imaginative are a few words I would use to describe Josh. The other day he came rushing into the house, shouting that a cat had kittens in our garage. We ran to the garage only to discover, this was his conclusion after he thought he might have seen something furry run away from him. Wow, his little mind really filled in some holes there; however, we are thankful not to have stray kittens in our garage.

Direct your children onto the right path,
and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6
