Back to School

Last week the kids finally started back to school. We got home from our vacation, had a few days to prepare for school, and off they went on Thursday. We had a really good summer, so I didn’t have that feeling- they had to leave so I could regain my sanity. However, they do have to leave, so I can get some things accomplished. It is amazing the time they take up, and how little I get done over the summer. I loved spending the time with my kids, but now I am way behind on everything. My house and work have both been seriously neglected, oh, and I am exhausted. I spent last Thursday and Friday catching up on immediate paperwork, grocery shopping, and enrolling the kids in camp for next summer. Camp Barnabas started enrollment for returning campers on Thursday. I will be sure to let you all know when they start enrollment for new campers. This week I’m trying to get myself organized and figure out exactly what my goals are for this school year. I’m trying to do a better job of dividing my time between the projects I have and rest, because as usual we are having some major sleep problems with Josh and Ashley. I’m also trying to make decisions about what projects I’m going to keep, what new things I’m going to add, and what I need to just let go. We are anticipating a great school year. The school is really working to meet Josh’s needs as he begins 3rd grade. Ashley and Hailey seem to be settling into 5th grade in a new building. We have made a lot of progress on getting some medical issues taken care of on all three kids this summer, and will continue on that front throughout the year. I am enjoying the silence during the day and eager for the resulting chaos as they all descend on the house in the afternoon. Originally posted September 2011
